... ou comment vivre une vie créative

Last sunday, I went to this famous exhibition about traditional and contemporary arts in Brussels.
There was this one mixed media talent that blew my mind : Agnès PiantaDosi (click on this image to visit her blog)
I bought a magnificent brooch she made :
I'm not going to wear it but I'll put it in my passeport journal.
Apparently, she lives a couple of minutes away from Couillet and she is planning to give mixed media workshops next year. I really hope to learn how to incorporate such handmade stitches in my journals.

Could not find the energy to paint/glue in my journal the last two weeks.

I ended my road trip in Somerset (England) with 3 workshops. My first class was taught by Orly Avineri and I made this :

It was the second time this year that I had the opportunity to spent a little time with her (after meeting her for the first time in New Jersey).
She is fabulous. She really is my mentor.
Everything I make is dedicated to her. Always.

passeport journal

For one of the class I took with Orly Avineri in New Jersey back in july, we had to bring an old passeport to work with. The class was called "just a formality". I had to leave the workshop early to catch my flight back to Belgium but I wanted to paint a lot more in it.
Last week, I finally found the time to finish it (painting, gluing, attaching).
It contains scraps of paper that I kept in a box (the cover of my first music tape, a love note I wrote to my mother when I was 6, some stickers I brought back from Mauritius 15 years ago, etc.)
I had that wonderful mini book cover made with chinese fabric waiting to find something precious to protect. It fitted perfectly!
And, guess what? I have another one ready to alter!
I was only 20 years old on that picture... That is 13 years ago.
Don't you have an old passeport lying around?

This week, our last blast furnace in Charleroi definitely closed.
It means hundreds of workers unemployed.
